Washington University

The prestigious Washington University is close enough for parents, prospective students, and other visitors to walk to the school. Washington University touches both St. Louis City and St. Louis County, with the main campus located in University City, Missouri, while the North and Medical Campuses are in the city of St. Louis.

The Washington University North Campus located just north of the Moonrise Hotel, just one block from the Delmar in The Loop Metro Station, which also services Lambert International Airport, the downtown attractions, and Central West End Business District, including the Washington University Medical Center.

Also convenient for Moonrise guests, Washington University's parking and transportation office is located at 700 Rosedale Ave, right behind the hotel. Visitors can purchase a $5 daily pass there and avoid the hassle of metered parking, which is available throughout campus.

The University's 169-acre Danforth campus is filled with Gothic style architecture, and maps are available at the Moonrise Hotel front desk. If you prefer a guided visit, campus tours are available Monday through Friday throughout most of the year. Visitors may want to check out the campus bookstore at the Mallinckrodt Center or the Danforth University Center for a bite to eat while on campus.

Saint Louis University

Saint Louis University, nestled in the heart of midtown, is one of St. Louis' larger and more urban campuses. At 4.3 miles from the Moonrise Hotel, it is less than a 10-minute drive away. Short-term visitor parking is available the Reinart Hall and Brouster Hall visitor parking areas.

University of Missouri - St. Louis

University of Missouri - St. Louis is a public metropolitan research university and is the largest university in St. Louis (the third largest in the state). Located near St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the university is conveniently accessible by the MetroLink. UMSL is three stops away (a six minute train ride) from the Delmar Loop station, a block and a half from the hotel.
