Opened in April 2009 by Joe Edwards as part of his vision for adding vibrancy to the Delmar Loop neighborhood, the eight-story Moonrise Hotel serves as a destination hotel for St. Louis locals, Washington University visitors and out-of-state travelers alike. Its prime location next to The Pageant attracts musicians and concertgoers from across the nation.
The Moonrise Hotel also is home to the award-winning Eclipse Restaurant, a St. Louis leader in casual fine dining. Eclipse Restaurant's talented chefs serve up a menu of fresh, contemporary American dishes made from locally sourced, seasonal and organic ingredients, and skilled bartenders mix up classic cocktails with a modern twist.
A bold combination of contemporary design, luxury amenities, well-appointed rooms and suites and ample meeting space, the Moonrise Hotel boldly goes where no St. Louis hotel has gone before. From the ever-changing colors of the iridescent lobby wall and open staircase to the evocative art, display cases of lunar toys, jewelry, figurines and spaceships at Eclipse Restaurant, there's much to marvel at without ever leaving the hotel.
The result: an unforgettable experience that combines Midwestern hospitality with urban chic and luxury boutique.
Joe Edwards
Joe Edwards is the driving force behind the revitalization of The Loop, designated "One of the 10 Great Streets in America" by the American Planning Association.
Nationally renowned restaurant and music club Blueberry Hill was the first of a new era of unique owner-operated businesses in the area. His subsequent attractions include the beautiful Tivoli Movie Theatre, the non-profit St. Louis Walk of Fame, The Pageant concert nightclub, the Pin-Up Bowl and the sensational Moonrise Hotel and Eclipse Restaurant.
Joe also has renovated numerous historical buildings and encouraged one-of-a-kind specialty shops, restaurants and cultural institutions to make The Loop their home.
Currently he is spearheading the effort to bring a fixed track, vintage trolley system back to the area.
