Tivoli Theatre
Just three blocks from the Moonrise Hotel, the Tivoli Theatre offers the finest in independent film and foreign language cinema and is home to the St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF).
Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, the Tivoli originally opened in 1924 with speeches by St. Louis Mayor Henry W. Kiel and University City Mayor Warren C. Flynn, along with music from the Jules Silberberg Orchestra and five vaudeville acts. A Streetcar Named Desire, The Wizard of Oz, and The Jazz Singer are just a few of the classic films that used to play on The Tivoli's screens.
